What we collect

This site has no accounts and collects no personal information directly. You can read every page, use every calculator, and print every chart without telling us anything. The calculators run entirely in your browser; nothing you type into them is sent to us.

Analytics

Three measurement tools run on this site.

• Google Analytics counts page views and anonymous events such as calculator use. It sets cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visits. We read the aggregate reports to see which pages get read and which tools get used. We do not look at individual profiles.
• Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, including a replay of pointer movement, scrolling and clicks, so we can see where a chart or calculator is confusing. It does not capture what you type into the calculators. Microsoft's practices are described in their privacy statement.
• Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without tracking anyone between sites.

How Google handles data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser with the add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Affiliate links

A few pages link to products on Amazon. Those are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate this site earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Every one is labelled where it appears, so you never have to reach this page to find out. Amazon sees the click the same way it sees any referral. It does not send us your order, your name or your address, only an aggregate count of purchases.

Nothing here is tested hands-on and nothing is stocked or sold by us. Product specifications are quoted from each manufacturer's published pages. We never recommend a product because it carries an affiliate link. Several pages on this site deliberately have no product link at all, because those jobs need a technician.

Hosting

Cloudflare serves this site and, like any host, sees standard request logs (IP address, requested pages, browser type) as part of delivering pages and filtering abuse. We also keep a count of requests from AI crawlers and assistants. That count records the crawler's name and the page it asked for, and nothing about human readers.
